Taft Consulting is a solo operation, founded by Joshua Taft in 2026, building and licensing Control4 DriverWorks driver products for dealers and integrators — starting with tc-amp3. Based in Orange, California.

What we believe

A feature isn't done because the code compiles — it's done because it was actually run and checked against a real system, and that check is written down. We'd rather say “not built yet” than let a gap hide behind confident-sounding docs.

Professional software doesn't have to feel sterile. A dashboard can be clear and still have a little personality. We aim for warm and occasionally playful in the places that call for it — and plain, direct, and easy to search the moment something actually breaks. Those are different jobs, and we try not to confuse them.

Documentation is part of the product, not an afterthought bolted on once something ships. A decision worth making is worth writing down, with the reasoning attached — so the next person (including a future version of us) doesn't have to reverse-engineer why something is the way it is.

Every change should leave things a little better than it found them. That's the whole standard.
